The Covid19 pandemic caused an abrupt halt to the live music scene in New York City and around the world. The spirit of creative music in NYC remains strong, simmering in the hearts of musicians and seeking a new way out. In reality, live music in traditional spaces will not be possible for the near future, but the show must go on.
The world has changed significantly over the past few months. The challenges are obvious, but we also see humanity recalibrating its ideas of compassion, community and creativity. The music is resonating in new, powerful ways, and its presence is more important than ever.
With that in mind, Centerpoint Arts presents “New World Music”, a series of completely improvised concerts taking place at various public outdoor spaces throughout NYC.
